Mensa's Community Activities Program
This CAP fits! |
For many years, Mensa's local groups have reached out to make their communities better. They have sponsored elementary-school science fairs, raised scholarship money, donated school supplies, and stocked local libraries with new books. They have lent their support to PBS pledge drives and bike rides for kidney research. Now these efforts are recognized and rewarded at the national level by the Community Activities Program (CAP).
Groups enter their projects and their results in an awards program, the winners of which are announced during American Mensa's Annual Gathering in July. There are four categories for
groups to enter: general community, education, gifted children, and
Young Mensan. The Young Mensan category is for projects completed by
members under the age of 18.
