Arlington, Texas (June 25, 2001) - National Testing Day 2001 has been set for Saturday,
October 20, 2001 across the United States. With nearly 200 testing sites, this is the perfect opportunity for individuals to learn if they have Mensa potential. Please contact the national office at (800) 66-MENSA or go to our web site at www.previous.us.mensa.org for more information.
Two tests, lasting up to two hours, will be administered for the nominal fee of $30. A score at or above the 98th percentile on either test meets Mensa's membership requirements. Due to the norms of our tests, we can administer them only to individuals over the age of 14.
Many individuals have already taken a test that meets the criteria for membership during their academic career. Individuals may qualify for Mensa membership by submitting acceptable scores from a standardized intelligence test. Please visit our web site for more information concerning tests and criteria.
"Mensa accepts those who score in the top two percent on a standardized intelligence test. That's one in every fifty people," said Marla Whipple, Mensa Testing & Admissions Manager. "Mensa members enjoy a network of friendships across the nation and around the world, as well as tangible benefits such as discounts on insurance, credit cards, and discounted car rentals."
